Two cars collided in a head-on crash on Post Office Road in Ross Creek.
The crash occurred about 8.20am.
Post Office Road is a narrow, two-way road, although cars are required to drive slightly off the side of the road when passing each other.
There were initial reports of at least one person trapped in the wreckage, however they were freed before 9am.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said three people were taken to Ballarat Base Hospital, in what appeared to be stable conditions.
However, the full extent of injuries are not yet known.
