Founder and president Friends of India Network Sanjay Sharma said the day brought communities together.
"Every year we select a local community cause and this year it was for the emergency department at Ballarat Health Services," Dr Sharma said.
"The cricket match is the start of the day which is a real carnival atmosphere and then wefollow it up with a gala dinner in the evening. It's usually about 150 but this year we had 300 attend at the Civic Hall."
Dr Sharma said the money raised would go towards the building a new triage unit at the Ballarat Base Hospital for quicker treatment of patients as required.
