The closures include campsites at a number of State parks in the region, such as Creswick, Buangor, Lerdederg and Enfield.
Designated campgrounds are any sites that have infrastructure such as toilets, fire pits or barbecues.
The restrictions state that all bookings will be fully refunded, however people currently at the parks will be requested to leave immediately by park rangers. Penalties apply to anyone found to be breaking the new restrictions.
Parks Victoria CEO Matthew Jackson said the decision was made to protect visitors and parks staff.
"Closing all designated campgrounds across Victoria for all overnight camping and accommodation will help protect the health and safety of visitors and staff," he said.
"We have a complete list of bookings and will provide full refunds as quickly as possible."
