Ballarat Yacht Club's planned "OutThere Sailing" on Lake Wendouree for Saturday has been cancelled.
The club stretched out the non-competitive program to last Saturday to allow youngsters to get in some practice, but that was where it ended.
"OutThere Sailing" is for 12 to 17-year-olds new to the sport and puts fun and social engagement first.
The program has five phases:
"OutThere Sailing" experience: An introductory experience. Try out with no long term commitment.
Stage one: For newcomers who have never sailed before, but want to give it a try.
Stage two: For those who have completed stage one and are now looking to develop further skills whiet still staying in a fun, non-competitive environment.
Combined: A model dividing groups based on age - 12-14 and 15-17.
