A CHANGING LANDSCAPE
Following the shutdown of the Lexton Plains league in 2010, Carngham-Linton, Illabarook, Rokewood-Corindhap and Skipton made their way to the CHFL to form a bumper 18-team competition in 2011.
This also meant a top eight finals series was introduced.
Illabarook later re-branded to Smythesdale and eventually folded, while the Saints, Grasshoppers and Emus all remain part of the competition.
In 2019, Skipton became the first former LPFL club to reach a senior finals series.

A DARK DAY
May 16, 2015 was an afternoon to forget for Smythesdale, which made national news after suffering a 69.22 (436) to 1.1 (7) thumping at the hands of Gordon.
Steve Nicholson booted 19 majors for the Eagles that day as the Bulldogs suffered one of the heaviest thrashings in country football history.
The loss came during a horror run for the senior side, which went five years without a victory until snapping the losing sequence in 2016.

SEEING RED
Mark Phelps' red card in the 2013 grand final is one many Buninyong and Hepburn supporters will never forget.
Phelps was sent from the ground in the second term by umpire Stephen McConville for a head-butt on Hepburn's Alan Ware in the second quarter.
It proved a turning point in the match, which Hepburn would eventually win by just nine points.
Phelps received a two-match ban at the tribunal for the incident.

THAT'LL DO, BOYS
In April of 2014 there were amazing scenes in Hepburn as the clash between the Burras and Beaufort was called off early because of a fight.
Carlton premiership player Glenn Manton was at the centre of a rolling melee which forced the game to be called off in the last term.
For the record, Hepburn was 89 points ahead when the match was ended and was awarded the victory.
MAGPIES GO HEAD TO HEAD
In May 2011, former Collingwood players Shane O'Bree and Simon Prestigiacomo locked horns in the CHFL.
O'Bree played for old side Beaufort, while Prestigiacomo ran out for Bungaree.
A massive gate created a finals-like atmosphere at Beaufort as the Crows' favourite son capped his 100th club match with a stirring victory over the Demons.
O'Bree kicked three goals and Prestigiacomo one, with both named among the best players.

OUT WITH THE AULD
In 2012 and only mid-way through his first season as senior coach, Troy Auld and Hepburn parted ways.
At the time, the Burras were second on the ladder.
The initial statement was that Auld had left for health reasons, but he later claimed that blurred lines of responsibility had made his role as Hepburn senior coach untenable.
Some people at Hepburn say he was moved on by the committee.
Auld had been appointed to take over the job from champion coach Shane Robertson, who returned to complete the 2012 season. His first game back in charge saw the Burras thrash Carngham-Linton.

BROTHERS IN ARMS
While the weather wasn't kind, it was an unforgettable day at Newlyn on April 14, 2018.
Brad Sewell, the Hawthorn premiership player and best and fairest winner, returned to play at the club where it all began.
Sewell teamed up with brothers Adam and Myles as the Cats beat Waubra in the opening round of the season.
The then 34-year-old didn't turn back the clock with his on-field performance, but played a part in the Cats' 25-point victory.
