According to a council media release, there has been a spike in glass volumes in the past month.
Waste Services teams will increase collection schedules from four to five times per week, and will monitor sites for any more adjustments.
Councillor Grant Tillett said in a statement council was still carrying out trials with the stockpiled glass - crushed glass is kept in one warehouse in Wendouree, while uncrushed glass is sorted by colour for recycling.
"While we have experienced increases in glass use over Easter and beyond we will be reassessing after these events to determine if there is likely to be a prolonged increase in glass production," he said.
"With the aggregation of glass we are still carrying out trials with different contractors in concrete products and asphalt."
All eight glass drop-off sites remain open, including the Gillies Street transfer station.
