A man has died after the car he was driving crashed into a tree in Korweinguboora, just south of Daylesford this morning.
A passer-by called emergency services about 5.40am after discovering the Ford sedan on its roof.
Investigators believe the man was driving north along the Ballan-Daylesford Road when he veered from the road, crashed into a tree and overturned.
The driver, a 57-year-old Musk Vale man, died at the scene.
Police were unable to confirm the cause of the incident on Sunday afternoon. Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at crimestoppersvic.com.au.

This comes less than six months removed from a similar incident on the same stretch of road left a man in a critical condition.
The man in his 40s was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition after a crash in November 2019. The man later recovered in hospital.
It was a relatively busy weekend for emergency service workers after a woman was injured in a two car collision on Saturday evening at a notorious intersection.
The two cars collided at the corner of Sturt Street and Ripon Street, with one woman treated by paramedics at the scene.
Ambulance workers were also called to assist a young girl in Haddon on Sunday afternoon after she was injured in a motorbike accident.
She sustained a laceration to her leg and rib injuries before being taken to Ballarat Base Hospital in a stable condition.
