Wade Turner, of no fixed address, faced the Ballarat Magistrates' Court on Thursday for the magistrate to check on his progress on the Court Integrated Services Program.
He was placed on bail on May 21 with the condition he comply with the program. But the court was told Turner had been charged with new offences since then.
Defence lawyer Clara Harper said her client had been charged on May 25 with six new offences, including setting fire to a stolen $20,000 blue Ford wagon in Ballarat East and driving in a stolen car in the vicinity of two police officers on duty, exposing them to risk.
It is alleged Turner was a passenger in the stolen vehicle when it was driven at the police officers and he was found with stolen car keys in his possession on his arrest.
Magistrate Noreen Toohey told Turner, who appeared via video link, he had not complied with CISP bail.
"On May 25 he was released on a deferral and it seems you have done rather poorly," Ms Toohey said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Ms Harper said she had had a brief discussion with Turner since his arrest but it was possible his charges could resolve and he could return to court before Ms Toohey for a consolidated plea hearing.
Turner was remanded in custody until a further mention on July 30. A committal mention has been set down for September 3 for the new charges.
Turner has been charged with six new offences.
