An application has been lodged with the City of Ballarat to use the vacant building at 7-9 Grenville Street, next to Carpet Court.
The building was used as a voting centre during the general election last year. It was formerly the Provincial Home Living store.
The applicant is noted as Body Fit Training Ballarat, and the application is to change the use of an existing retail building for "restricted recreation facility (gym)".
There would also be a partial demolition/alteration to facade and display of business identification signage.

The application is at the initial assessment stage.
