The council's website is calling for expressions of interest from "suitably qualified and experienced individuals and companies to develop detailed plans for Her Majesty's Theatre."
"Council is seeking architectural firms with direct experience in heritage theatres and publish buildings."
The project is to complete compliance facilities such as disabled accessibility at the theatre which reopened after the first two stages of the multi-million dollar upgrade were completed in August last year.
Detailed designs are being called for by March 2021 with the successful tender announced between April and June next year.
It has requested 50 per cent of construction to be completed by July 2022 with the final completion date set of November 2023.
Interested companies have until July 22 to submit applications, with shortlisted companies then to tender for architectural services to support the design and construction.
