The results comes on the back of the Excellence in Research Australia (ERA) ratings which were released in March which indicated the quality of research at Federation University was above world standard for the first time in seven separate research areas.
The Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) Graduate Outcomes Survey 2019 found 87.8 per cent of Federation University graduates were employed full-time in the short-to-medium term after graduation - up more than 10 per cent since the last survey in 2016.
The results were even stronger for post-graduate students, with 91.4 per cent in full time employment three years after graduating, compared to 86.5 per cent in 2016.
Nationally, employment rates were highest for dentistry, medicine, rehabilitation and veterinary science graduates and lowest for those who completed courses in creative arts, tourism, hospitality, personal services, sport and recreation.
Acting vice-chancellor Andy Smith said widening participation in tertiary education was providing economic and social benefits to the university and helping students attain employment quickly.
"This signals to our students and their families that a qualification from Federation University can lead to a well-paid, fulfilling career."
"It is truly wonderful to see that many of our students are the first in their family to go to university and our national number one ranking in this category confirms that with the right training and support they can succeed and transform their lives."
