'Spoonville' has been constructed and thriving along Ripon Street in the garden of Monica Main.
Mrs Main said she got the idea after seeing a similar set up in the UK online during the pandemic.
"I saw it and just thought "Why not?" she told The Courier.
"I went out and got some wooden spoons to create it... it made me happy to do and I've been thrilled to hear it has brought smiles to other people's faces."
During this difficult time for a lot of people, Mrs Main said all she hoped 'Spoonville' would bring has already been achieved.
"I had someone leave a note in my letter box saying how much they enjoy walking past all the fun little characters," she continued.
"That really feels amazing. A lot of people are struggling emotionally and mentally right now, so anything that can help lift someone's spirit is so important."
Mrs Main encouraged others within the community to take part in developing their own version of 'Spoonville' in their own front garden.
"Everybody's got wooden spoons," she laughed.
"Paint a few and get some colour out there... you never know how it may help people in your community."
