Ballarat received around half a month's worth of rain on Saturday, but the wet weather did not keep all residents indoors.
Three-year-old Eden Briody wore her raincoat, gumboots and carried an umbrella with Matt Briody on Saturday to walk through the Ballarat Botanical Gardens.
The Bureau of Meteorology recorded 24.6 millimetres of rainfall since 9am on Saturday.
This is more than half the total rainfall of 46.6 millimetres recorded in Ballarat throughout all of September last year.
The biggest rainfall in one day recorded in September last year was 15.4 millimetres.
The forecast for the remainder of the week is relatively clear, with a chance of showers expected on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are forecast to be partly cloudy with a top of 14 degrees celsius on Monday, 15 degrees on Tuesday and 18 degrees on Wednesday.
It is expected warmer and drier weather will be welcomed by residents as regional Victoria moves to step two restrictions on Monday, allowing more outdoor activities.
