In a board meeting held on Thursday, the BCA proposed a commencement date of October 17 to kick off the 2020-21 campaign.
Under the proposed plan, the fixture would be revised so clubs would play all one day matches up until the Christmas break.

Clubs would also play the day of the AFL grand final on October 24. BCA president Rob Florence said clubs would have until Tuesday morning to provide the board with feedback.
"There is a few options there, but the board's preferred option is October 17 with one day cricket in all grades," he said.
"If the balk of the numbers say they would prefer to start on October 31 so they don't have to play on grand final day, then we'll consider that."
Florence said given the 2020 AFL grand final will be played in the evening, the board opted to squeeze in an extra round of cricket. He said due to the 7.30pm time-slot, players would still be able to watch the match.
However depending on club feedback, the board would consider giving clubs the week off and returning to play on October 31.
"We obviously want to maximise the number of games, that's why we are seeking feedback," he said.
"Even if you wanted to watch it at the pub, my understanding is that you can only be at the pub for two hours so it's not as if they can sit at the pub all afternoon anyway."
Florence said the BCA board would meet again close to the Christmas break to discuss whether to schedule longer format matches in the second half of the season.
He said the decision would be dependent on COVID-19 cases.
"The thought process for two day games is if a COVID scare goes through clubs, what happens to that round?," he said.
"This way there is less opportunity for disruption."
