The club has locked in an agreement with the City of Ballarat and Ballarat East Bowling Club to convert an old green into a petanque playing surface.
Club members were busy working on the facility on Wednesday.
BPC president Gordon Oliver said the need to find a home was due to the club's growing membership base.
"There's been a lot of interest in petanque and there's a lot of people that don't know much about it," Oliver said.
"The club was only registered on February 6 and we now have 30 financial members."
Oliver said once the works were completed on the old top green at Ballarat East, some time would be needed for the playing surface to settle before being able to be used.
"We should be playing there perhaps in a few weeks time, towards the end of October or something like that," he said.
"It's basically a brand new sport for people in Ballarat."
Oliver said the sport was for both genders and for all ages and abilities.
"Our youngest member at this point in time is seven and our oldest is 75," he said.
