It is one of the strangest election periods on record as candidates campaign under COVID-19 restrictions.
This ballot is also likely to be one of the most important in recent times, as Ballarat looks for leadership in recovering from the pandemic, and to cast off the shadow of recent IBAC and Victorian Ombudsman investigations.
