Award winners will be cast in a Victorian Opera production and receive private coaching and mentoring from Victorian Opera staff, including artistic director Richard Mills.
The Courier understands Mr Stubbs and Mr Roberts have long supported Victoria Opera before launching this award.
"We are both delighted to be able to offer a prize which we hope will enable a future Australian performer to reach the next step in their career, in order to achieve their dreams," they said in a media statement.
