It had been thought the under-age grades would kick off around the same time as the senior divisions on October 17, but a meeting on Monday night confirmed there would be a slight delay.
BCA board member Peter Brady said various boys and girls divisions would get underway in the week leading up to October 31, which is the date for round one of the under-15 and under-17 Saturday morning male competitions.
"We surveyed all of the 16 clubs and marginally more preferred the 31st (of October)," Brady said.
"Some clubs were ready to start on the 17th, but they acknowledged also that other clubs needed a bit of time to get organised.
"There were a few clubs that indicated they weren't quite ready. With kids not being at school, they were a bit unsure of numbers. So they just felt that extra couple of weeks would benefit those clubs who are struggling to get things sorted out.
"Together with all of (these) COVID (protocols) and organising personnel for that... there's a bit to do."
Brady said not all team nominations had been received and therefore a fixture was not yet complete, but expected there to be eight playing days before the mid-season break.
He also forecast some Sunday turf games for the under-17 boys, which are likely for some time during February 2021.
