Landt has been appointed an assistant coach of the Wimmera league club.
He is making the move with former Sunbury junior Dylan Tarczon, who is a former Coburg VFL player and has been playing with Riddell.
Sunbury coach Travis Hodgson said he was disappointed to be losing Landt, but wished him all the best with the move
Hodgson believes the loss of Landt late in the 2019 season with broken ribs was a contributing factor to the Lions' early exit in the first week of the finals.
He celebrated a special family event in 2019, when he played alongside his younger brothers Dylan and Brock in one game.
Hodgson said although the new reduced salary club made it challenging, Sunbury was in the market to add a couple of new faces to its list for next season.
He said it had been important to look after existing players who had already taken cuts.
