The teenager was set to test his might in the Melbourne premier cricket ranks this season, following a breakout year in the 2019-20 BCA season.
However, with a cloud cast over metropolitan cricket due to the COVID-19 lockdown, Golden Point captain Andrew Warrick confirmed the teenager will stay in the BCA another year.
He said it was a win for the club.

"We only anticipated to have him for a couple of weeks, so having him really bolsters the batting line-up and allows us to bat pretty deep," he said.
Pegg exploded onto the scene in 2019-20, scoring the first century of the season with a knock of 101 in a round two win against Buninyong.
He topped the effort a few weeks later with a 116-run effort against Napoleon-Sebastopol. He went on to post the fourth most votes for the EJ Cleary medal count at season's end.
"He didn't look like a 17-year-old last season," Warrick said.
Pegg is one of a number of Melbourne premier players to commit to a BCA club this season. Last month Former Victorian Bushranger Blake Thomson joined East Ballarat, while Greenvale premier seconds player Jacob Pawlowicz joined Napoleons-Sebastopol.
Ballarat-Redan, Brown Hill and Wendouree all recruited players as well. But unlike most premier players, Pegg won't return to the Melbourne ranks once play there resumes.
"The benefit for us is that while all these other clubs have premier players for a short period, we've got a high calibre player like that for the season," Warrick said.
