The new lights at Ripon Street are already operational, however additional pedestrian and cyclist lights for people using the shared path will also be activated on Tuesday.
The Ascot Street lights will be the 10th set between Grenville Street and Pleasant Street, with more to come.
Signals at Raglan Street will be switched on at a later date, after poles are moved to allow for the new shared path.
The news comes as work is set to begin on the next part of the shared path, stretching from Drummond Street to Dawson Street.
The stretch from Dawson to Raglan streets should be finished by the end of November, according to Regional Roads Victoria.
The traffic lights are part of a wider project to boost safety at seven high-risk intersections along Sturt Street as part of the Victorian Government's $9.3 million Ballarat Safer Cycling Connections program, a media release states - as traffic has grown busier along Sturt Street, there has been a noticeable increase in accidents along north-south crossings.
Some intersections are becoming U-turn only to remove the north-south crossing, including Talbot Street, Windermere Street, and Lyons Street, to cut down the risk to drivers, as well as other vulnerable road users.
Wendouree MP Juliana Addison said in a statement the new lights "have been installed to improve road safety in Ballarat following the shocking crash history at both these intersections. The traffic lights will also improve connections for pedestrians and cyclists".
