The Crows had three days to consider whether to match the offer for the restricted free agent and force the Saints into a trade.
The AFL confirmed at 5pm on Wednesday that Adelaide had let Crouch go and would be eligible for a round two compensation selection, which is currently pick 23.
Crouch played 95 games and kicked 34 goals for Adelaide between 2013 and 2020 and won the club's best and fairest award - the Malcolm Blight Medal - in 2019.
He is a former St Patrick's College student, who grew up playing with the Ballarat Swans, Beaufort and the North Ballarat Rebels.
His brother Matt remains at Adelaide, where he has played since being drafted in 2013.
