It will be a history-making day for the club, which launched the initiative as a way to provide for players with intellectual disabilities. Once selected, the side will compete in the 2020-21 MAACA competition which will commence in December.
"People have been asking for something like this for a while and we are delivering it," North Ballarat director of cricket Adam Eddy told The Courier when the program was announced in August.

The tryouts will take place at Northern Oval 2 in Wendouree from 10am. Following the events, a final squad of 14-15 players will be announced on Tuesday November 17.
To be eligible for selection, individuals are required to have an intellectual disability, possess a disability or pension card and be aged 16 or older.
In a statement, the club said it was expecting a strong turnout, with community interest already very high.
Once selected, the squad will become the first MAACA club to play out of Western Victoria.
"It came about after a couple of our players brought it to our attention after realising there was no cricket outlet in Ballarat for that type of community," Eddy said.
"It's a Sunday fixture so it wouldn't effect any BCA Saturday fixtures. Anyone that wants to play and get involved can contact the club and we will try and accommodate them."
The MAACA competition consists of teams comprising of players with an intellectual disability. The side, which will play under the North Ballarat banner, is aimed at providing individuals living with an intellectual disability the opportunity to play cricket in a supportive and suitable environment.
"Every club would have people that can play in this side," Eddy said.
