Uniting general manager north west Victoria, Annette Kelly-Egerton said BreezeWay offers lunches to hundreds of people every day.
"The new space has a fully-equipped kitchen with space for clients to sit and enjoy their meal, relaxing in the company of others in spacious and comfortable new surroundings," Ms Kelly-Egerton said.
"The new BreezeWay is easily accessible from the street, a huge bonus as the original BreezeWay is on steep Dana Street hill."
The new emergency relief area offers a range of vital support services, a one-stop shop for those needing advice on issues of concern.
"We are very proud to be offering this space and programs to allow people companionship and a sense of belonging with dignity," she said.
The Order of St. John's Dame Barbara Hughes said she was privileged to participate in a project which will significantly impact on the efficient delivery of support to the increasing number of people experiencing difficulties during the COV-19 pandemic.
"The Commandery of St. John in Ballarat has not had the long history but we are endeavouring to pick up the role of supporting the community where possible," she said. "This is a big task at the moment with the present pandemic, however with persistence and dedication we're able to achieve small results.
"Uniting Ballarat has been involved in the Breezeway Project for many years and has served the Ballarat community well with their preparation of meals for the members of the community who are in need.
"I know this is greatly appreciated."
