Jayde Higham, 26, was arrested on Friday at Reservoir after a police search to locate him.
The Lake Gardens man appeared via video link from custody on Monday at the Ballarat Magistrates' Court for a remand hearing.
Higham is charged with intentionally causing serious injury for his alleged involvement in stabbing a man in the chest about 12pm on Thursday.
Charge sheets obtained by The Courier show he is also charged with intentionally causing injury, unlawful assault with a knife and assault.
Higham did not make an application for bail.
Defence lawyer Andrew Madden said Higham had suffered a head injury at the start of the year and would need to access his medication for the injury while in custody.
Custody officers removed Higham from the prison video link room half way through the remand hearing and he was excused by Magistrate Noreen Toohey.
The court heard Higham was on bail for other alleged offences listed at court in February.
He will return to court on March 11 for a committal mention.
