The City of Ballarat has just launched a new 18-hole public course - the first in Victoria - and it looks a heap of fun.
Played much like golf, the ever-growing sport requires participants to throw a disc around a course and into baskets in the least amount of shots possible.
The course in Victoria Park covers an area of approximately 2.5km and has 27 baskets set up in positions to suit both amateur and advanced players.
"Through our consultation for the course, we found out we had a lot of keen disc golf goers who are actually from Ballarat who go to Geelong," City of Ballarat recreation services participation project officer Teagan Kenny said.
"It's been a really long project in the making. It's been about 12 years or so of actually wanting to put a course in."
The course is free to play and discs can be hired from council or bought in shops or online.
