Emergency crews were called to the corner of Sturt and Raglan streets in Ballarat's CBD just after 5.20pm with reports of a woman being trapped.
A Mitsubishi SUV and ute collided head-on, with most of the damage occurring to the SUV.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the woman was taken to Ballarat Base Hospital in a stable condition with minor upper body injuries.
Traffic lights have been installed at the dangerous intersection after a number of crashes over the years, but they are yet to be activated.
