Paramedics were called to the incident near Woodend at 10.45am with the CFA and SES dispatched shortly afterwards.
An air ambulance has also been dispatched for the man who fell, who is aged in his 20s.

He is being assessed for upper body injuries but his condition has not been released.
SES and fire crews are considering a high-angle rope rescue in an attempt to remove the patient.
It is understood specialist fire crews are en route and could team up with an SES team already on scene if that type of rescue is required.
