Victoria continues to keep COVID spread penned in

There are currently 11 active cases of COVID-19 in Victoria. Ten of these are in people in hotel quarantine and the remaining case is in a teenage girl who is isolating at home after contracting the virus in NSW.

Borders to NSW remain closed and anybody from the high riosk zones of Sydney and the orthern beaches are being forced to quarantine.

The two new hotel quarantine cases are in a woman aged in her 20s and a child aged under 10.

Today is the 59th straight day where Victoria has recorded zero daily community transmission cases. There are no new deaths

The Department of Health also reported a good response to the call out for testing over the past week with higher than expected numbers of people getting tested in lead up to Christmas, but we must remain vigilant over the festive season and anyone with symptoms is urged get tested immediately.

Testing sites will also be operating in the popular holiday destinations at Torquay and Lorne

A total of 3,847,166 test results have been received in Victoria which is an increase of 5,880 since yesterday. Wastewater monitoring is continuing at more than 60 locations across Victoria.
