The seven-year-old delivered the Irishman his first country cup win in the $25,000 Petrogas Burrumbeet Cup, 1800m, on Friday.
"It's my first country cups runner, so its very special," he said.
Diplomac Jack already had special place in the hearts of Carberry and his wife Monique, who owns the gelding.
He was Carberry's first starter in a race and then his first winner as a trainer in Ballarat in September, 2018.
While this was also his first starter at a Burrumbeet New Year's Day meeting, he knows the track well, having attended numerous trials there.
Carberry was full of praise for the track. "It's an intergral part of the Ballarat training set up."
Carberry, who has about 10 horses in work, said he would now consider a country cups campaign for Diplomac Jack.

Diplomac Jack ($3.30 favourite) found the lead in the cup and after kicking away on the point of the home turn had the race in his keeping.
He won by more two lengths from Brigadier ($18), with Von Mystic ($12) third.
