This is the one race on the Victorian racing calendar that the bulk of the field is selected by the public via a voting system.
Voting opened on Friday, with the Dan O'Sullivan-trained Affair To Remember quickly finding herself in the top 10.
Mr Quickie, which is part of Ballarat-based syndicator Wylie Dalziel's stable and ran in $5m race last year, is also among the early leading votegetters.
Affair To Remember has not raced since finishing a close second to Irish Flame in the Ballarat Cup in November.
Other Ballarat trainers with nominations are Ciaron Maher-David Eustace with Amish Boy, Away Game, Grandslam, Jet Propulsion, Junipal, Sir Dragonet and Snapdancer; and Archie Alexander with Chaillot and Night's Watch.
Voting remains open until Sunday, February 14.
