Detectives from the Missing Persons Squad have charged a third person following the death of Ballarat woman Kobie Parfitt.

A 35-year-old man, who is currently at a correctional facility, was charged with one count of murder.
It follows two other people being charged in relation to Kobie's death.
Shannon Jeffreys, 32, was charged with murder last month and is currently at a correctional facility.

It followed an initial charge of murder laid against 31-year-old Wendouree man Brendan Prestage on December 30 - one week after police located human remains down a mineshaft in Snake Valley on December 22.
They had been searching the area as part of the investigation into Kobie's disappearance.
The 43-year-old was last seen alive at a property on Hickman Street on April 28, 2020.
The investigation remains ongoing.
The man will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court at a later date.
