AFTER three successive losses and a cancelled game against Darley last weekend, North Ballarat knows this weekend will be the key to getting back on track in the run to the finals.

A frenetic two days of cricket action across the BCA sees three matches on each of Saturday and Sunday that will have a direct impact on where clubs will finish at the end of the season.
For fifth-placed North Ballarat, a clash with third-placed East Ballarat on Saturday, before backing up against seventh-placed Ballarat-Redan on Sunday, will determine if it is finals bound.
Earlier in the season, North recorded a big 50-run win over East, scoring over 200 runs in the solid victory, but since then, the batting has dropped off somewhat.
However, it is the second match that holds particular significance as it was this clash earlier in the season between the two sides when North's batsmen Vikrant Dabra collapsed on the field with just one over to play.
At that stage, North required 12 runs off the final six balls. Dabra was himself not out on 38 off just 43 balls.
Officially Ballarat-Redan has since been awarded the points, which remain contentious with the North Ballarat club which is working through an appeal process for what could be valuable shared points come finals time.
North Ballarat captain Mick Nolan won't be drawn on what the final decision will be regarding the points from the match, saying that will be left to committee members to determine, but he said the pressure would be on his side to perform this weekend.
"We haven't said too much as we're focused on other stuff at the minute," he said. "What's good for us is Dabra has been back for a couple of matches and is okay. We're looking forward to a big weekend."
He said it would be up to the batsmen to find their rhythm and put some competitive scores on the board which will help turn the faltering season around.
"They're big games for us, we need to make sure we win these. Obviously missing out last week was disappointing, we'd built ourselves up for Darley," he said.
Ballarat-Redan's form has also been faltering in recent matches, having not tasted victory in 2021.
However recent losses have come against the top four sides.
But it will need to get things going on Saturday with a clash against eighth-placed Buninyong before the match on Saturday which will determined its finals credentials.
A WEEKEND FULL OF BIG CLASHES
MATCHES this weekend against seventh and sixth placed sides Ballarat-Redan and Golden Point will determine Buninyong's Ballarat Cricket Association Firsts finals fate.
The matches are just two of the big games scheduled to be played on a double header weekend which will go a long way to determining finals places.
The eighth placed Buninyong is still well in contention for one of the six finals spots, but two wins against their nearest rivals will be crucial to remain in the hunt.
Second placed Wendouree also has a huge weekend ahead of it, up against Golden Point on Saturday before backing up with a top-of-the-table clash with Mount Clear on Sunday.
Mount Clear would start as favourites to defeat Brown Hill in its Saturday clash, but given Brown Hill's recent form, the top side should be wary not to take this easily.
Brown Hill then backs up on Sunday with a match against the in-form Darley.
Darley, the reigning premiers, are just starting to come into some strong batting form and has moved to fourth on the ladder. It should have too much fire-power in the batting line-up for Nepoleons-Sebastopol on Saturday.
Nepoleons-Sabstopol face a second daunting task of the weekend the following day, away to East Ballarat.
