"This year we came and we won so we want to keep it going, win these week as well," he said.
The clash with the Wanderers looms as a vital one at this early point of the season.
Only seven points separates first placed Central Coast and ninth placed Newcastle on the A-League ladder at time of writing.
United enter the fixture having won three of its past five games and drawing another, while the Wanderers have only managed three draws and a win.
Skotadis said it's an important game to win to continue to build some consistent form into the next handful of games too.
"Very important, I think we've still got two games in hand compared to the top of the table. I think we'll get them this week and we'll go again on Wednesday then again on Sunday," he said.
While focused on its on field performance, United have made a concerted effort to give back to the Ballarat community.
Skotadis and teammate Ivan Vujica attended Sebastopol Primary School on Tuesday to conduct a question and answer session with the students.
They gave out tickets to Sunday's game, handed out hats and kicked the ball with the pupils.
Vujica said it's great to explore Ballarat and interact with fans when they are in town for games.
"It's always nice to give back to the community. Me and Jerry were little and we had people coming to our school, so it's always nice to give back," he said.
United's clash with the Wanderers kicks off at 6:10pm on Sunday at Mars Stadium.
