Glassborow is the father of Zoe Glassborow, who was one of the favourites for the Women's Gift.
"She's been going terrific, Castlemaine last week and here at the moment, I'm really proud of her," Glassborow said.
Glassborow, off 14.25m, said he was thrilled with his own win.
"I had to push really hard to keep in front, it was a good win, I'm happy with that."
Earlier, Seddon's Corina Kapusta upstaged the men to celebrate International Women's Day in style, scoring a big win in the 1600m Masters Handicap Final.
Off 290 metres, Kupusta was one of the first to make up ground on the front markers and powered away to a more than 20 metre win.
Kupusta thanked the organisers who not only had to deal with a rescheduling, but also early morning rain and a power outage.
