A man charged with the attempted murder of a woman after an alleged incident at Scarsdale in November has faced court.

Paul Bradley, 32, appeared via a video link from prison at the Ballarat Magistrates' Court on Thursday for a committal mention.
Bradley's defence counsel sought permission from the court to cross-examine four lay witnesses.
Defence lawyer Jim McGarvie said the evidence of the four witnesses was relevant to assess the credibility of the victim.
"All of the evidence these witnesses can give is crucial," Mr McGarvie said.

Bradley is charged with 10 offences relating to the incident on November 14, including attempted murder, intentionally causing serious injury and assault by punching the woman in the face.
Police allege he engaged in reckless conduct causing serious injury and reckless conduct endangering life.
The Scarsdale man is charged with strangling the victim placing her in danger of death and serious injury.
It is understood Bradley was on bail at the time of the alleged offending.
He is charged with committing the indictable offences of attempted murder, reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury and intentionally causing injury while on bail.
The Ballarat Family Violence Investigation Unit charged Bradley on November 15, the day after the alleged incident.
A two-hour contested committal hearing will be held at the Ballarat Magistrates' Court in August.
Bradley did not make an application for bail and he was remanded in custody.
