Players involved with the qualifying finals will return on Sunday.
It's good news clubs Wendouree, East Ballarat and Mount Clear who were all in some trouble within the first nine overs on Saturday.
Those matches have officially been abandoned with new games to start on Sunday.
EARLIER: A WASH-OUT is on the cards in today's Ballarat Cricket Association qualifying finals with the likelihood that Sunday's reserve day will be needed to complete all the matches.
All first's matches did get started before the rain set in across Ballarat just before 12.30pm.
North Ballarat had made a flying start against Wendouree, racing to 0-47 off just nine overs with openers Leigh Lorenzen (26 not out) and Mick Nolan (20 not out) striking at nearly a run a ball.
But the wickets had already started to tumble at the other matches with East Ballarat dropping to 2-22 off 8.3 overs in its clash with Golden Point while Mount Clear's top order was again looking shaky against Darley, slumping to 2-15 off 7.4 overs.
It looks set to be a frustrating day at the crease for all players with a cold front sweeping across the state bringing wide-spread rain.
The good news is, the rain is expected to clear by this evening and even though tomorrow's forecast is expected to be a cold 14 degrees across Ballarat with strong southerly winds, it is predicted to remain mostly fine with some sunshine meaning games should be completed by Sunday night.
