Police have confirmed the incident in Redan last night, during which multiple people were assaulted, was an aggravated burglary.
A police spokesperson said investigators had been told three men banged on the front door of a home in Bell Street before letting themselves in about 9.50pm.
Once inside the three offenders were involved in a verbal dispute with the six occupants of the house, which then escalated to one of the offenders assaulting an 18-year-old man with broken glass causing a laceration to his neck.
The trio then assaulted the five other occupants and damaged property inside the home before fleeing from the scene.
Emergency services were notified and rushed to the scene.
The 18-year-old male with the neck laceration was conveyed to hospital for treatment.
The Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating and the investigation remains ongoing.

A teenager was stabbed and multiple others assaulted at a Redan address last night.
Emergency services were called to the Bell Street address just before 10pm on Saturday night.
Ballarat police sergeant, Jamie Jordan, said an argument began between two parties, who are believed to have been known to each other.
It then escalated.
Multiple people were assaulted, including with a baseball bat, and an 18-year-old male was stabbed in the upper body.
He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being transported to Ballarat Base Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police set up a crime scene, with investigations ongoing.
