Mark McKay, 47, is accused of selling more than 100 grams of ice to a covert operative in 2019. Police allege the drugs were analysed and were shown to be 80 per cent or more of purity.
He allegedly handed over 27.9 grams of ice to a covert operative on one occasion, and 73.3 grams of ice on a second occasion during a police operation.
McKay is charged with possessing numerous firearms, which were found at co-accused Jamie Karslake's Haddon property in November, 2019. McKay is denying the allegation.
He faced the Ballarat Magistrates' Court via telephone on Thursday, charged with nine offences.
The court was told six witnesses, including Karslake and co-accused Nathan Bell, the covert operative, a detective senior constable, the police informant and a DNA expert, would give evidence at a contested committal hearing.
Magistrate Ron Saines gave permission for McKay's defence counsel to cross-examine five of the six witnesses.
A special mention will be held in September before a two-day contested committal hearing in November. McKay's bail was extended until November.
