Police are still searching for the perpetrator of a random street attack in Ballarat's busy nightlife district late last month.
A 21-year-old Alfredton man was suddenly struck in the face outside The Gravy Spot on Lydiard Street following what was believed to have been a friendly conversation between the victim, a friend and two unknown men.
Despite releasing footage of the attack last Thursday, police are yet to make any arrests in relation to the incident.
The strike caused the victim to fall over where his face hit a wall frame, causing two jaw fractures which required surgery.
Police wish to speak to a man described as being Caucasian and aged in his 30s who was wearing a blue hooded jumper, light-coloured shorts and thongs on the night of the incident.
Anyone who recognises the man or witnessed the assault is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or file a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au

The victim fell over and smashed the other side of his face into a wall frame.
He suffered two jaw fractures and required surgery.
The identity of the man accused of the attack remains unknown and police are urging the public to help find him.
"It is very serious. As we know these things can turn out very badly for the victim," Detective Murphy said.
"The victim is shaken up. It has made him think twice about going out. He has had surgery and he is at home recovering. He is very sore and he has plates inside his jaw."
Ballarat detectives have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in relation to the assault.
The man is described as being Caucasian and aged in his 30s.
He was wearing a blue hooded jumper, light-coloured shorts and thongs.

Police also hope for the man who was with the attacker to come forward.
