POLICE are investigating a fire at St Arnaud, which destroyed about $1 million worth of hay and caused about $2 million worth of damage to storage sheds.

About 8500 hay bales went up in smoke in the fire on Sunday.
Emergency services were called to Charlton - St Arnaud Road about 7.30am.
Arson chemists and detectives are investigating the cause of the fire, which is expected to smoulder for several days.
Detectives have released CCTV of the fire in the hope someone can assist investigators.
