Goalkicking force Andrew Hooper missed the end of the Swans' 26-point win against Bacchus Marsh after feeling a twinge in his hamstring.
Hooper has a history of hamstring injuries, and while his latest setback isn't feared to be major, the Swans' assistant coach remains in doubt to take to the field against North Ballarat this weekend.
"He's got a hamstring (injury). It's not a bad one, but he did sit out the last quarter and a bit," Carmody said.
"We just have to assess that during the week.
"We're not ruling him out for the weekend, but he'd probably be doubtful."
Hooper was the league's leading goalkicker in 2019, bagging a whopping 41 majors from just 16 games.
Backman Tobias Fisher was briefly forced from the field on Saturday after copping a hit to the back but is expected to be right for the weekend.
The Swans had a host of players touch-and-go - including marquee recruit Josh Gibson - heading into the season-opener.
The call was ultimately made to rest those not 100 per cent fit, a decision that undoubtedly helped the run and stamina behind the Swans' five-goal rout in the final quarter.
"We had a few guys that were probably 50/50, but we just decided 'round one, let's go in with 22 fit blokes," Carmody said.
"I think (that final quarter) was a testament to the fitness and the guys at the club that put a really good program together.
"We were really confident at half-time that we would be able to run out the game strongly."
