Two tries in the first eight minutes set Ballarat up for huge 51-3 against the Melbourne Chargers.
In total, the Highlanders crossed the line nine times in an attacking clinic.
"(The win) was awesome. We've probably got four or five new players who've never played before so it was awesome to see them pretty up-and-about on the way home," coach Mitch Cattell said.

"There's definitely still some room for improvement. It's just making sure that last pass is on point and sticking the first tackle, rather than missing it and having to cover it at the end."
Cattell's men make the long trip to HMAS Cerberus navy base for a special Anzac Day weekend clash.
The Highlanders were scheduled to play their first home game this weekend, but were more than happy to agree to Cerberus' request to host the fixture.
"We agreed to it as a committee because you can't really say no to the Navy on Anzac weekend," Cattell said.
"They reckon there's going to be a couple hundred down there watching.
"They're going to do a big Anzac service before kick-off because they've got soccer, football and rugby going on all at the same time."
