The first criminal trial in regional Victoria since the COVID-induced suspension last year will empanel a jury in Geelong this week, with other cities to follow.
A joint Supreme and County court media release states all hearings will be made COVID-safe for juries.

"The Courts have already resumed in-person hearings in non-jury criminal and civil matters in several regional court locations where Supreme and County Court matters are heard as well as continuing hearings using remote technology where appropriate," it states.
Several changes will be made, including smaller jury pools of 35 to 40 people, and individual copies of documents or an individual tablet.
