The Ballarat Football Netball League is planning to proceed with round eight as scheduled for all grades below under 17s (inclusive).
None of the BFNL clubs within Greater Melbourne's boundaries - Sunbury, Melton and Melton South - compete in the juniors grades slated to resume this weekend.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The Central Highlands Football League is yet to make a final decision on its junior games this weekend, though the board was planning to meet on Wednesday night.
Both leagues were awaiting advice from AFL Victoria on crowd sizes, match-day restrictions and other return to play guidelines, which were expected in the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the state government has allowed adults in regional Victoria to return to training from Friday, with group sizes are capped at 10 people.
The BFNL and CHFL were still determining what the extended lockdown meant for their senior competitions.
The Courier understands the BFNL was no longer looking at re-scheduling fixtures for the Queen's Birthday long weekend in light of the state government's plea for residents of Greater Melbourne to avoid travelling to the regions.
Not all sports have been spared under the easing of restrictions.
Indoor sport will be prohibited statewide until at least 11:59pm on Thursday, June 10, forcing Basketball Ballarat to cancel its junior tournament planned for next weekend.
Hundreds of players from across the state were expected to convene on Ballarat for the tournament.
