The single-storey brick home on Grevillea Road was owned by Donna Tregenza.
Ms Tregenza, who was aged in her 40s, sadly died after a battle with a rare type of liver cancer.
Due to the rarity of the condition Ms Tregenza was being treated at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne, but sadly lost her battle in December last year.
One of her final wishes was for her three bedroom home to be sold, with the profits to be donated to support cancer research in an effort to find a cure.
Ballarat tradespeople and businesses have rallied around the cause, offering products and services to prepare the house for sale free of charge.
Working bees have been hosted at the house in recent weeks. The list of those who have assisted is continuing to grow, but so far a range of people have pitched in.
These include property styling and real estate photography businesses, with businesses creating brochures, painting walls, laying carpet and landscaping free of charge.
Real estate agents Karen and Josh Coull, from Barry Plant Ballarat, will be selling the home. After being called in to do an appraisal, Mr Coull was touched by the story and immediately made the decision to sell the house free of charge.
He said everybody knows a tragic story of somebody who has suffered from cancer - for him, it was both of his parents.
He said the generosity shown in supporting the cause highlighted the sense of community in Ballarat.
While the house is on the market, it will be taken to auction. Mr Coull hopes the house will sell for at least $450,000.
Other businesses who wish to assist are asked to contact Barry Plant Ballarat. The home, located at 1008 Grevillea Road, will be auctioned at 1pm on Saturday, August 7.
