"We really want to make Ballarat fans proud," Matt Kenyon said, reflecting on the Hotondo Homes Miners' winless record at the Ballarat Sports Events Centre this season.
"We haven't really shown them how (well) we can play as of yet.
"Every team wants to have that strong base at home and really have a home court advantage."
He said teams might think they could play in Ballarat and "smack" the Miners around.
"We're going to look to changing that on Saturday.
"Hopefully we can get our first home win on the board," Kenyon said.
Nunawading and their Sunday opponent Diamond Valley are among the teams that the Miners need to chase down if they are to force their way into the play-offs.
