Annie McCartin's group remains the only unbeaten team in the competition - a record that is likely to stand, depending on any potential fixture changes.

One of the season's big improvers, the Panthers have been left to rue split seconds with two draws to their name.

Melton South is one of the best sides in the back-end of the court and uses its physicality and defensive pressure to overpower its opponents.

The run home poses some challenges, and the Panthers will be hoping to avoid a trip to North Ballarat if the fixture is changed.

East Point's defence is elite, there's no questioning it.

The Roos have conceded the least amount of goals in the competition, but it's the jitters at the attacking end that need to be fixed if last season's grand finalists want to go better.

East Point is the fourth-lowest scoring side and boasts outputs of 66 and 61 per cent shooting accuracy in its past two games. Easier games on paper should be a good chance to rectify that.

An already impressive campaign was given extra motivation by the late-season announcement that Katie Williams would be stepping aside after four years as coach.

The Lakers will want to send her off well, and the fixture should help them do that.

A match against the winless Sunbury is first off the ranks, and should offer confidence for whatever may come.

Eight points clear of Ballarat in seventh, Sebastopol could be one of the side's most affected by any potential changes to the fixture.

The Burra's next two games are against fellow finals sides, Melton South and Lake Wendouree.

The rounds most at risk of being abandoned have Sebastopol scheduled to play sides in the bottom four. The Burra shouldn't slip out of finals from here, but it could be a nervous wait.

Fourteen points off the pace, the stars would have to align for Darley to sneak into a finals place.

After winning their first three games, six straight losses have hampered Di McCormack's side.

A loss to North Ballarat on the season's return would resign the Devils to the bottom half of the ladder.

Like Darley, with who it shares 12 points, everything will need to go right for the Bloods to sneak in.

A bye will bring four points and matches against Bacchus Marsh and Darley shape as big opportunities. Melton has impressed, but its competitors have just built too big of a buffer.

While finals may be off the cards for the Cobras, they still have the chance to rise the ladder.

A return against Melton is an immediate chance to bridge the gap, but the following game against North Ballarat could be dangerous.

It's hasn't quite been the season first-year coach Josh Burns would have wanted.

His young Lions are still hunting a first win and the potential fixtures ahead of it make it a hard task.
