Power will not be at the helm for the 2022 Ballarat Football Netball League season, having first joined the Lakers at the end of 2017.
He guided the club to finals in his first season in charge and a ninth-place finish in 2019, before the pandemic struck.
The past two years have seen Power juggle his commitments as a football coach and principal at Miner's Rest Primary School in a complicated COVID landscape.
Lake Wendouree president Chris Brennan said the club was thankful for Power's service to the club.
"We're very grateful for the time that Dale's given us over the four years. Especially that third year, which was a COVID year with no footy," he told The Courier.
"He's done a wonderful job. When he first took over, we had a fair amount of players leave, and he wasn't left with a great list. But, we made finals that year, and we've been competitive after that.
"We've been very happy with what Dale's brought to the club over the past four years."
Lake Wendouree is accepting applications for the senior coaching position and welcoming interest in assistant coaching roles.
"We're open to playing or non-playing coaches. We're putting it out there to see what interest there is," Brennan said.
"We'd like someone that would be very good with the playing group and someone who's going to take the club to the next level."
Power is the first of this season's coaches to vacate their role.
Melton's Aaron Tymms and Bacchus Marsh's Tom German recently committed to another year with their clubs.
Sunbury leader Travis Hodgson and his Ballarat counterpart Joe Carmody penned two-year extensions.
