A man has been charged with a raft of offences following a hostage situation in Buninyong in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

A 29-year-old Ballarat man has been charged with a number of offences, including kidnapping, reckless conduct endangering life and assault.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Ballarat Magistrates' Court on Friday, November 19.
Police will allege the armed man took a woman hostage in Buninyong about 1.45am on Tuesday morning before fleeing and being found and arrested by police about 6.30am.
Traffic was blocked from entering Buninyong for some time on Tuesday morning while the township was placed under a precautionary lockdown while police swarmed in search of the offender.
Three Warrenheip Street shopfronts sustained damage, with windows broken at the post office, bank and a cafe.
Employees of a bakery also reportedly witnessed part of the incident, alerting police.
